For an artist whose forte remains social consciousness, one may be tempted to place love at the bottom of themes they may rap and perform about. However, the “Did you think” rapper surprised fans with a Highlife song.
Who is Featured?
The song features two other musicians. Ghanaian Highlife legend Ofori Amponsah, and Tamale’s sensational singer Jerry Kanjarga bring the lover boy in them to “You make me wonder”.
The song has gone way past an audio recording and culminated in a very eye-catching video directed by celebrated Ghanaian Director Yaw Skyface.
It is not an everyday occurrence to get a legend like Ofori Amponsah aka Mr. All 4 Real on a song. It is therefore not surprising how Dr Pushkin went all love at this opportunity.
The music video is set in a beach house along the coast of Southern Ghana. Featuring some of Ghana’s finest models and video vixens, Dr Pushkin seeks affirmation from his lover as he conquers the world with hits.
The beautiful images complement the soothing lyrics of the musicians, birthing an impressive piece of the music video.
You Make Me Wonder is Dr. Pushkin’s first fusion with the Highlife Genre. As a rapper pushing an Afro-Fusion movement, the collaboration definitely furthers his quest to not only be a stellar performer but a versatile one – someone who appreciates multiple genres and moods.
