Pioneers of Africa Kennel – POA in Lagos

Pioneers of Africa Kennel – POA journeyed from Accra to Lagos for an incredible experience. One that proved the Kennel’s pursuit of excellence and exhibited the same. With two Dobermanns, the Kennel stunned show participants and attendees with world-class dogs from Ghana. The dogs named K9 POA Elijah and Val Di Vetro’s Gold Standard (Goldie) are 14-month-old Male Dobermann and 7-month-old Female Dobermann, both of superior quality.

Val Di Vetro’s Gold Standard (Goldie)

While Elijah was born and bred in Ghana, Goldie is an Italian import that will further augment the Kennel’s breeding program. The two dogs are just a tip of the quality Dobermanns available at the Pioneers of Africa Kennel – POA, which prioritizes Dobermanns for excellent personal protection duties.

About Dog Shows

Dog shows embody breed standards, recognition, legacy building, lineage validation, socialization, fun, and several gains. It is, therefore, an activity every breeder longs to dominate. While dominating is limited to the various dog groupings and specialized categories, winning a single trophy or medal is similar to winning at the Olympics.

COBA Nationals 24

Top Dogs at Dog Show’s automatically see a rise in value and worth. A stellar result from appraisal and score at these events is desirable for breeders. The desire to win and thrive is why dog breeders are avid participants at dog shows – it is one of the few opportunities where reputable judges from across the world critique dogs and facilitate the improvement of all breeding programs.

Establishing Nigeria’s Canine Owners and Breeders Association (COBA)

Like every country with breeders, Nigeria has strived to maintain breed standards by forming an association. COBA’s existence ensures that the quality of dogs improves and allows for the sharing of knowledge that will enhance the breeding programs of members. Being a united front also allows for proper public education on responsible breeding and canine welfare. It guides the public in choosing the right dog for the right task or purpose.

In pursuit of those above, the Canine Owners and Breeders Association (COBA) was created in 2019 and has since been on a path to achieve its goals.

COBA’s mission is “To promote quality breeding of purebred dogs and to do everything possible to bring their natural, desirable attributes to perfection, through purposeful, ethical and regulatory breeding practices in Nigeria.”

The organization also has a clearly defined list of objectives.

The founding of COBA is attributed to the efforts of Dr Olakunle Sowunmi.

The annual All Breed and Assessment Show was conceptualized and initiated as a significant association element.

COBA’s Annual All Breed and Assessment Show – 2024

COBA’s Annual All Breed and Assessment Show of 2024 occurred at the Digital Bridge Institute in Lagos. The event came off on the 5th of December, 2024. However, in the spirit of reciprocity and cordiality between Ghana and Nigeria, two Kennels from Ghana participated in the show that can be labeled the pride of Nigerian breeders. That rare occasion where the finest dog breeds in Nigeria assemble to be assessed and recognized for superior quality.

While Pioneers of Africa Kennel – POA brought two amazing Dobermanns, Adanfopa brought a Shih Tzu. Both Kennels made an impressive showing that won the hearts of the Judges and spectators. POA Elijah was adjudged Best of Breed and Best Male at the show. His Kennel mate, Val Di Vetro’s Gold Standard Goldie, was also pronounced Best Puppy in Show and Best Female in her group.

Adanfopa’s Shih Tzu, GH.CH.TH.CH. Radiance’s Pick Pocket was also adjudged Best of Breed.

The above feat re-enforces the cordiality that exists between Nigeria and Ghana.

This participation by Ghana came on the heels of Ghana’s August Classic Show, which hosted several breeders from Nigeria.

Dog Breeds that came to the COBA’s All Breed and Assessment Show

Several Kennels from across Nigeria came to the show. While others came to observe and take notes, others prioritized networking for future endeavors. However, the Stars of the day were the participating Kennels and Dogs. Amongst the participating breeds were German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Cane Corso, Dobermann, Shih Tzu, Caucasian Shepherd, Bull Mastiff, Golden Retrievers, Pugs, Labrador Retrievers, and several exotic breeds that fit into the 11 groupings open to participants.

The Groupings were the following:

All participants exhibited a good show of sportsmanship, and the winners received cheers from the crowd.

An aspect of the show that came as a thrill was the pride of winning “Best Bred in Nigeria”; the revered title was won by a Rottweiler named Phoenix of Sheen Kennels in Lagos.

The Ghana – Nigeria relationship has always been an envious one for other African countries. With the new trend of Ghana and Nigeria joining together for dog Shows, we are confident of a future where a bigger West African and African show would happen.

Ghana recently earned a partnership with FCI.

Congratulations to  K9 POA Elijah and Val Di Vetro’s Gold Standard Goldie of Pioneers of Africa Kennel, GH.CH.TH.CH. Radiance’s Pick Pocket of Adanfopa and Phoenix of Sheen Kennels.

Timtooni Got Dr Pushkin And B-Wayne Out Of The Grave

A-scene-from-Empty-Grave

Empty Grave in Visuals

The song Empty Grave will have you thinking wildly about prioritizing self-worth and your dreams. It will take away all emotions borne of ill-treatment, and like a Phoenix, you will rise.  Having been presented as a live performance and audio, an impressive body of art in a video is out.

The Video was shot at the Red Clay Studio in Tamale and directed by Timtooni.

Loving the dead

Until it’s time to be lowered in that grave, one can never know how much love people had for the dead. The numerous RIPs redefine what enmity is. While tears will flow, many see it as just a phase in “knowing others.” The magnificent outpour of grief-riddled individuals begs the question, “Who really wants to see us do better in this life?”. When Dr. Pushkin and B-Wayne collaborated on Empty Grave, the audio story of an intricate life journey thrived on human relations, pretence, unhealthy competition, and an outright desire to see many fail.

B-Wayne on Empty Grave

However, cognizant of the sordid apparitions of man’s love, B-Wayne prioritizes resilience in the face of all adversity. A stance is reinforced through this masterpiece of a song. A tough-talking B-Wayne tells how he is ready to face a calvary of enemies. And since humanity is never satisfied, thus talking down on people’s progress, he’s reassured all that his energy is from within, and he’s not going to an early grave.

Dr. Pushkin on Empty Grave

Music has always been a multi-purpose tool; for the average person, there’s always a song that urges you to stand firm. In a world dominated by love grown on hatred, it can be scary to interact with peers. It is that interface that always results in betrayal. Empty Grave is not just an interesting song but one that shows outdoors people’s capabilities.

Like hunting in a forest filled with booby traps, a proper appreciation of what awaits offers the correct preparedness to face it all. Dr Pushkin likens the cemetery to a graveyard of dreams. And for that matter, the brevity required to succeed in any quest requires “Jah’s Guide.” Acknowledging the role of friends, family, and business partners in a haste to see you down so they can shed fake tears, Dr. Pushkin performs a stellar verse that can best be described as “I see you, but I ain’t quitting.”

This music video, Empty Grave, brings life to a fantastic display of musical prowess, wisdom, and tenacity by B-Wayne and Dr Pushkin.

About My Time by Dr Pushkin and Ataman Nikita

Performed over a resounding Drum and Bass dominated instrumentation, the two artists bring their respective roots to the fore. Ataman Nikita’s RnB background is further elaborated with an impressive soul-lifting vocal performance on “My Time”. Recounting the several instances that have culminated in the creation of My Time, Ataman Nikita reiterates that he’s never desired anything more than churning out amazing music.

Dr Pushkin comes in hard with bars that exude resilience and his unfettered rise as an enviable rapper. Telling the story of hurdles in his pursuits, the rapper reminds everyone that he isn’t here for the moment but for the long haul. The several releases, including the “Maths, Beats and Flow” album, The Outlandish album, and several singles, were just a precursor to now. Weaving through the My Time beat dexterously, the rapper’s use of literary devices like foreshadowing and alliterations in an impressive rhyme scheme attests to the fact that he’s laced his boots for this moment and beyond.

My Time was released today, 17th December, by Isolirium Entertainment as the last tune from the label for 2024. 2025 is set to be another jolly year for the label. Its two frontline artists have been impressive with several releases. While My Time crowns it, the other releases have been phenomenal musical masterpieces.

Ataman Nikita 2024

Due to ill health, Ataman Nikita had to go slow on solo releases. He, however, played a role in nearly every song released by Dr Pushkin and Isolirium Entertainment.

Still Here with Dr Pushkin and Strongman Burner was his major entry point to music, however, the release of Enigma carved a path for him. His release of Beauty Queen further hinted at the uniqueness of Ataman Nikita’s vocal prowess, especially from an artiste based in Bolga. My Time, however, tells of a packed 2025 in which Ataman Nikita will release several singles and his maiden album.

“Questions II – Dr Pushkin Interrogates the very being of man

Questions-II-by-Dr-Pushkin

“Questions II” was unveiled.

In another bold move, Dr Pushkin has dared to question nearly every aspect of our current being through a song. Titled Questions II, a sequel to Questions released a few years ago, the artiste challenges the status quo with relevant questions. The kind that will make even P. Diddy Question his absurd leaning towards paranormal behaviour.

As an artist who has prioritized the use of music as not only an entertainment medium, Questions II is a reminder of the conscience-laden rapper.

Just-Watch—Dr-Pushkin

Dr Pushkin in Ghana 2024

Regarding Questions, the AI developer has had an impetuous but controlled 2024. Dr Pushkin has seen a meteoric rise in all spheres of his hustle, from releasing multiple banging songs to Khaya updates. Spotted in Ghana just before the general elections of 2024, the ever-working rapper is bent on achieving a milestone in several fields that remain to be surpassed.

While in Ghana, Dr Pushkin was a guest speaker at several university conferences on the development of artificial intelligence. Meanwhile, on the music side, he did several collaborations, visited his hometown of Bongo in the Upper East Region, and wrapped it up with a video shoot for the timeless hit “Empty Grave” featuring one of Upper East’s finest musical gems to the world, B-Wayne.

“Questions II” is the last set to wrap up Dr Pushkin’s impressive repertoire for 2024. It is available on all digital music stores.

Music shouldn’t just be beat, and words mumbled together; it should be beaten with words that inspire you to want to act differently. Remember, right and wrong resides in the conscience of all; however, a relevant set of questions is needed to draw them out.

Questions II should get you bouncing and evaluating life, pursuits, aspirations, and all you could ever live for.

First,

“How come the best comes to those who least deserve it?” …Dr Pushkin.

Questions II by Dr Pushkin – Lyrics

How come best
Comes to those
That least deserve it?
How come the loudest voices
Can never confirm shh
If they don’t have the talent
Why can’t they just earn it?
I don’t even know, do you?”

Why they preaching peace
But don’t follow the motto?
Ma rent’s due again
Why can’t I just win the lotto
When the guns come out
Where goes all the bravado?
I don’t even know, do you?
(Bra – tu tu tu)

Can’t they leave man alone
So he can write this corpus
Why so hard to believe
That I have found my purpose?
When they vote a clown in
Why not expect a circus?
I don’t even know, do you?

If there are no heroes,
It’s ok being a villain?
Being a villain they need?
Why cry when my country bleeds?
Why bother if it succeeds?
When all I see is hatred seed
I don’t even know, do you?

And who knew
After all that we’ve been through
I’d be coming back to you
Like a boomerang would do
(Rhetorical)
And who knew
Dr Pushkin would be
One of the illest rappers
You ever knew?

Couldn’t Diddy take that money
And just be normal?
Why ignore common sense
Put faith in paranormal?

Why they seem to be ok
With the killing and slaughter
As long as the slaughter aligns
With preferred world order?

If you fool and take song send to a big artist
(Wo kɔɔ hɔ kɔ yɛɛ dɛn?)
The artist turns around and makes same song with his partners
Is that one too really really really an artist?
I don’t even know, do you?

If you support genocide
Can you really be surprised
When your allies – the victims of this genocide
No longer side with you?

Country’s purse?
We call that a leaky bucket
Can we call it a sieve?
Can we even conceive?
Of a world
Where they don’t stiff us

Those who want some flowers
Why not see a florist?
What you won’t do for fam
You would do for a tourist?
(Hmmm?)
If you had a woman
Who takes and takes
Can you call her your Miss Take?

Going Einstein Crazy with my time and space
Creating art that really speaks – how can that be erased?
And if we can’t take care of home
What we looking for in space?
(Hmm?) (A rat done bit my sister [whisper, “whitey on the moon” opening reference]

I don’t even know
I don’t even know
I don’t even know
Do you? (2x)
