The initiative offers financial support and grants to small and medium enterprises involved in recycling and waste management projects. Its goal is to advance a circular economy and stimulate employment opportunities.

Mohammed Murtala, the Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, ensured that each of the 10 SMEs received approximately $300,000. He also emphasised that the government would closely monitor this initiative.

“We should all be conscious and monitor how the monies will be utilised. I do not need a dollar or a cedi from you. You need to use the money for the intended purpose, and I will be doing the monitoring because this is just the first tranche,” he declared.
