He was accompanied by his brother, Kpembewura Banbange Ndefoso IV, who is also the Paramount Chief of the East Gonja Traditional Area.

The visit was to formally announce his appointment to the Yagbonwura and seek his blessings and advice. For Mr. Bawah, it was a profoundly personal visit. His grandfather, the late Yagbonwura Bawah Doshie, once sat on the same skin.

As a native of Gonjaland, Mr Bawah said it was essential to work with traditional authorities to help meet the country’s housing needs. He said the State Housing Company is committed to delivering affordable homes across Ghana, including in the Savannah Region.

The Yagbonwura welcomed the visit but expressed concern over the lack of housing projects in the region. He urged the MD to consider Savannah when planning new developments. He promised full support if the company brought any housing initiative to the area.

Mr. Bawah thanked the Yagbonwura for the warm welcome and wise counsel. He said guidance from respected leaders like the Yagbonwura is vital in ensuring that development meets the actual needs of the people.
