Regentropfen launches fund for needy but brilliant students at 10th anniversary
Regentropfen University College in the Bongo District has launched a fund to support academically gifted students who cannot afford university.

Regentropfen University College has launched a fund to help academically gifted students who cannot afford university.
The Regentropfen Fund for Needy but Brilliant Students was unveiled on Saturday, 10 October 2026, at the institution’s campus in Namoo-Kansoe, Bongo District. The launch was part of its 10th anniversary celebration, held under the theme “From Vision to Reality: A Decade of Promoting Talents and Shaping Future Minds.”
Dean of Students Dacosta Aboagye said the fund targets the financial barriers that keep capable young people out of tertiary education. It is meant to be a lasting source of support for students who might otherwise never enrol or drop out before graduating.
The fund will sit alongside the university’s existing scholarships and its Work and Study programme. The size of the fund and the selection criteria were not announced.
Mr Aboagye appealed to alumni, staff, businesses and development partners to contribute, saying gifts of any size count. Playing on the university’s name, which is German for “raindrops,” he said many small drops can together make an ocean. Donors signed an investment board at the launch, which the university plans to keep for future anniversaries.
Founded in 2016, Regentropfen has grown from 46 students to about 1,300 today.
