Bawku-Born Hajia Police Feeds Thousands at 2nd ABINCHI Festival

The second edition of the ABINCHI Festival took place Saturday, August 15, at the Madina Astroturf. Thousands attended. The event combined free meals, live music, and community outreach in a single day.

The festival was founded and led by Superintendent Sa-ada Muhammed, popularly known as Hajia Police. She is a native of Bawku in the Upper East Region. She serves in the Ghana Police Service. She is also recognized as the pioneer of Afro-Islamic music. The festival supports less privileged members of society. It promotes compassion, generosity, and unity, in line with Islamic teachings on almsgiving.

Attendees received free hot meals throughout the day. Artists volunteered their time to perform for the crowd. Maccawan and A. Rahaman Katari supported the outreach. Their backing helped extend the festival’s reach within the community.

The event reinforced a message of kindness and social responsibility. Organizers say ABINCHI’s mission is simple: feed bodies, uplift souls, and celebrate humanity, one meal and one song at a time. The festival’s continued growth also reflects Hajia Police’s dual identity as both a serving police officer and a pioneering musician.
