Bawku-Born Hajia Police to Feed Thousands at 2nd ABINCHI Festival

The second edition of the ABINCHI Festival will take place on Saturday, August 15, at the Madina Astroturf in Accra. The event runs from 9:00 a.m. Organizers will serve breakfast, lunch, and supper to thousands of underprivileged people throughout the day.

The initiative is led by Superintendent Sa-ada Muhammed, popularly known as Hajia Police. She is a native of Bawku in the Upper East Region. She serves in the Ghana Police Service. She is also recognized as the pioneer of the Afro-Islamic music genre. The festival is rooted in Islamic teachings on almsgiving and care for the less privileged. It follows a well-received debut edition last year.

Maccawan and A. Rahaman Katari are supporting this year’s edition. Organizers say the event will be larger in scale than the first edition. The day’s charitable program will be followed by a live concert. Performers include Abochi, Bosoma, Feli Nuna, Kuami Eugene, Maya Blu, Aya Ramzy B, and Keche. Additional performers are expected to be announced ahead of the event.

Hajia Police was born in Bawku. She has built a public profile across two distinct roles: as a senior police officer and as a musician. Her hit tracks include “Corona,” “Eid Mubarak,” “Laila,” “Gobe Sallah,” “Ramadan,” and “Fallen Heroes.” The ABINCHI Festival represents her continued outreach effort, extending beyond both the uniform and the stage.
