The Dobermann Club of Ghana and Paws for Peace

This Saturday, the Paws for Peace Dog Show, hosted by the Kennel Union of Ghana (KUG), is set to be a groundbreaking event. As the first KUG show since gaining membership in the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI), the event marks a new chapter in Ghanaian canine history. Adding to the excitement, the Dobermann Club of Ghana has achieved an extraordinary milestone by surpassing all other breeds in registrations, making their presence the standout highlight of the show.

What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that the Dobermann Club of Ghana (DCG), the smallest breed club within the KUG, has accomplished this feat through the unwavering dedication of its members. These breeders come from varied backgrounds and persuasions, united by a shared love for the Dobermann breed. Their peaceful unity reflects the show’s theme, which promotes peaceful coexistence among Ghanaians before the country’s upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.

Celebrating Excellence and Unity

The record-breaking turnout of Dobermanns is more than a testament to the breed’s enduring elegance and appeal. It highlights the superior quality of breeding stock and the exceptional dedication of Ghana’s breeders. Under the new FCI affiliation, the KUG and its members are stepping onto the global stage, showcasing dogs that meet the highest international standards.

The Dobermanns are admired for their sleek athleticism, intelligence, and loyalty—traits that have made them legends. At Paws for Peace, attendees will experience Dobermann’s beauty and strength up close, thanks to the united efforts of the DCG’s breeders.

Despite being the smallest breed club in the KUG, the Dobermann Club of Ghana exemplifies what can be achieved when passion transcends differences. Members of the DCG from diverse walks of life have joined forces to raise and celebrate Dobermanns, demonstrating that peaceful collaboration leads to remarkable achievements.

Paws for Peace: A Kennel Union of Ghana Milestone

This year’s Paws for Peace Dog Show is not just about competition—it is a platform for encouraging harmony, a message especially relevant in the lead-up to Ghana’s elections. As Dobermann breeders work together despite their differences, they symbolize the possibility of unity for a common purpose, mirroring the show’s theme of peaceful coexistence.

Alongside the Dobermanns, other breeds will showcase their unique traits in conformation classes, agility trials, and more. However, the Dobermanns are expected to steal the show with their record-breaking turnout and the unity behind their presence.

Competing alongside Dobermanns include Rottweilers, Poodles, German Shepherds, Cane Corso Italiano, Boerboel, Shih Tzu, Presa Canario, Lhasa Apso, Labrador Retriever, Golden Retriever, and the American Cocker Spaniel.

Be Part of This Momentous Event

While these events are educational, revealing, and aesthetic to the general public, the men and women behind making functional dogs see it as a sport. In this sports competition, the Dobermann Club of Ghana decided to show up, show off, and win massively.

Paws For Peace comes off at the Dworwulu Astro Turf in Accra from 10 am – to 5 pm on Saturday, 30th November, 2024. Dog enthusiasts are guaranteed a thrilling experience. From a showcase of amazing dogs, competitions, and demonstrations, KUG is set to leave an indelible mark with Paws for Peace.

The unprecedented presence of Dobermanns, driven by the peaceful unity of their breeders, embodies the spirit of the Paws for Peace Dog Show. Combined with the historical significance of being the first KUG event under FCI affiliation, this is a cherished moment for all dog lovers and advocates of harmony alike.

About the Dobermann Club of Ghana

The Dobermann Club of Ghana (DCG) was founded in 2018 by breeders who sought to ensure the quality of the breed conforms and stays in tandem with the breed standards set by the International Dobermann Club (IDC). As a club, the primary mission is to improve the quality of Dobermanns in Ghana to meet the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI) breed standard under the auspices of the Kennel Union of Ghana (KUG).

The Dobermann Club of Ghana (DCG) seeks to achieve its primary mission by promoting ethical breeding, registration of dogs and puppies in the KUG stud book, and promoting canine welfare along the ideals promoted by the Dobermann Verein eV and IDC, which are the primary guardians of the Dobermann worldwide.

With the recent announcement of KUG’s FCI membership, the DCG is inching closer to becoming an IDC member.

Through the investments of club members dedicated to the breed, Ghana can boast high-quality Dobermanns, allowing for the production of dogs that meet the FCI breed standard.

This Saturday, let the Dobermanns remind us of the power of collaboration and unity in diversity. Celebrate the breed, the Dobermann Club of Ghana, and the peaceful message of the Paws for Peace Dog Show as we look toward a harmonious future for Ghana.

It’s either a Dobermann or a Dobermann.
